#199

Taken at the Black/White Trail Cutoff

Yesterday, in a light drizzle, we shot up to Whitecap Mountain for Hike 199 of the year. The trail conditions varied from snowy to icy to muddy... nevertheless, we negotiated the different sections with ease. Bailey sharpened up his paws, and I wore microspikes and a knee brace to stabilize my patella (knee cap). The higher we went on the mountain, the deeper the snow. Although that's not unusual, the blowing and drifting evidenced on the last 20% of the trail surprised me.
