Bethel's Long Mountain Trail

We got a late start today heading to Greenwood/Bethel and a new hike, the 5-mile Long Trail. We tramped through mist and mud, past waterfalls and ledges. The trail moves from a gentle roly-poly landscape that parallels a river with small water falls to switch backs that level off on a wood-lined summit with cloudy views of local mountains. The information says that we could have seen the White Mountains from up there, but not today. The final 20 minutes brought darkening skies, but we made it to the trailhead finishing #192 without incident.
