A stately old girl on Whitecap

We hiked Whitecap on Thursday. Half way up we met a 14-year-old Golden and her mom. We learned that the old girl stopped eating 2 weeks ago but has kept on going. I'm uncertain whether she had eaten recently, but she sure looked like a beautiful old dog. Mom hoped that they'd both die on a mountain trail versus the alternatives. I understood; same here. I wish I’d taken a picture of this stately old girl, but at the time that felt intrusive. As we walked in opposite directions, I called out, “What’s your pup’s name?” “Sadie,” Mom said. And then she asked Bailey's. Here’s to Sadie and Bailey living their best lives on the trails.

Heading' home for treats.
