| One-third of a mile above the XC trail... even has an outhouse! |
With just a little time this afternoon, we headed out on the Black Mountain XC trail and then shot up through the snowmobile/ATV trail to the back side of the mountains surrounding the ski area. I didn't realize that mountain just beyond and to the right of BMOM called South Twin Mountain was quite so large. The peak is 2149 feet. I need to find more time to explore! I'm betting I can circle the base of Black Mountain and end up between Whitecap and Black Mt on the Black/White trail. Looks like the full circle, including up B/W trail and down Black Mountain's slopes, would be about 8+- miles.
